Early menopause - recognizing the signs and capable management

Early male menopause  can be extremely difficult to handle. The entire concept of a male menopause has not found acceptance among most men. Added to that is the complexity and confusion caused by the early menopause. Given that the male menopause does not occur as abruptly as a female menopause does, many men find the idea of a male menopause extremely dubious and claim that it is a myth. It is therefore extremely difficult for men to accept an early menopause when it occurs since the signs creep in slowly. In most cases, it is waved off as a mid life crisis that most men go through due to retirement, old age setting in and an empty nest. The male menopause is similar to a female menopause in certain ways. While estrogen levels drop in females at the onset of the female menopause, the male menopause brings about a gradual decline in the levels of the male hormone testosterone. Some of the symptoms that are manifested are also similar. Psychological symptoms like depression, irritability, memory loss, a strong feeling of uselessness and a lack of self confidence are experienced by both men and women during the menopause. While male menopause also needs recognition and attention, an early menopause in men needs to be handled with extreme care. An early male menopause can start as early as 35 and at this age most men are not ready to face the physical, physiological and emotional changes and symptoms that accompany with menopause.

Early menopause signs are similar to the symptoms that occur during a normal male menopause. The only difference is in the time of onset of the symptoms. Recognizing menopause signs is critical to the overall management of life in the future. Look out for these symptoms so that you know when to visit the physician for some consultation.

Hot flushes are one of the key symptoms of an early menopause. A hot flush is a sudden feeling of extreme heat flowing through the entire body. It is also characterized by redness in the face and sweating. These menopause signs are generally the first few easy indications that the menopause is setting in.

Another symptom of an early menopause that can be recognized easily is night sweats. If you wake up at night suddenly feeling warm and sweating all over, you may indeed be going through the menopause stage. This symptom can be temporarily controlled by using ice packs. The feeling of discomfort may persist for some time.

Emotional changes are also inevitable during early menopause. The fact of the matter is that one does not expect these changes soon and therefore one tends to associate them with some other cause. Since dropping testosterone levels are not in your control, you can only accept the change and manage the early menopause with better awareness and knowledge.
